Safe Environment Training
If you plan to coach or be involved with our youth, including performing gym duty, you must complete a
Safe Environment/Sensitivity training session from the
Archdiocese of New York Safe Environment Program.

This is an Archdiocesan requirement for all adults who work with the children in our program.
The training is free.

If you already have this certification, then you need not do another.  For those who need to complete this
requirement, you must first complete and submit a background check form to your child’s coach.
Click here for the background check package.  Once your background check has been cleared, you must
go online at to complete the online Safe Environment training.  Print out the
certificate upon completion and return it to your coach to complete the process.  You must wait until your background
check has been cleared prior to completing the online training!

Sport's Program Mission Statement
The mission of the Sports Programs is to introduce players to a variety of sports, to instruct and encourage
them to be the best that they can be to the best of their ability.  Through Christian values, we hope to instill
in our players a sense of accomplishment through hard work and dedication, as well as a respect for their
individual sport, coach, team and opponents.  To know that you will win some, lose some, but if you give
your best you will always be a winner and a good sport.  Through discipline and cooperation with others,
we will learn to be a good team and a good teammate, and together we will reach our individual and/or team
goals.  Participants will learn to demonstrate good sportsmanship and Christian and non-Christian attitudes
before, during, and after all activities.

While this is a fairly new sports program to St. Christopher and St. Margaret Mary, we have
already had several children participating in the CYO Championship Meet and eligible for
the AAU National Club Championships down in Florida.  In its inaugural season, we even
had one child compete and place in the AAU National Club Championships and qualify to
attend the AAU Junior Olympics.
